St. John’s is an Episcopal Church that proclaims the redeeming and life-giving power of Jesus Christ. We are grounded in scripture and the power that flows from God through the Holy Spirit. Services are held at 9:30 a.m. on Sunday mornings.
St. John’s Community Thrift Store was founded in downtown New London as an outreach ministry of St. John’s Episcopal Church. Since opening in May of 2002, we have seen God work in many wonderful ways. Our customers continuously compliment us on the quality of our goods and the friendliness with which they are greeted.
In the fall of 2003, St John’s Christian Food Pantry opened its’ doors at 209 S. Pearl St. in New London. St. John’s Community Thrift Store maintains rent and utilities for the Food Pantry as well as providing all the funds needed to purchase food. Various agencies and businesses have also offered generous donations of money and food to continue the work of the Pantry. The Pantry serves about 50 families per week. It is managed by a team of faithful people from St. John’s Church. Their efforts demonstrate not only a care for people in need of food but also portray the spiritual nourishment that flows from a relationship with God.
