Ellis Visual Arts, LLC – Soft Study | Lilac – A Needle Felted Botanical Workshop
March 28 @ 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm

Soft Study | Lilac — A Needle-Felted Botanical Workshop
Participants will create a softly layered, two-dimensional needle-felted artwork inspired by lilac blooms, using dyed wool fibers to “paint” with texture, depth, and color. This workshop focuses on gentle composition, tonal blending, and slow, intentional mark-making — resulting in a finished piece that feels both modern and organic.
We’ll begin with an introduction to needle felting tools, wool types, and foundational techniques, followed by a guided demonstration on building form, blending color, and creating botanical shapes through layered fiber. From there, students will work at their own pace with individual support and guidance throughout the session.
Each participant will leave with a completed felt artwork — a soft, textural interpretation of lilac that can be framed or displayed as a seasonal art piece.
