It’s beginning to look like Christmas! Thank you Nathan with Jahnke Building LLC for your amazing donation to the BOS’ Giving Tree.

We have chosen Fox Valley Veterans Council, Inc. & Mission of Hope as our recipients for the giving tree. We are requesting gift cards be donated so that each of these organizations can provide them to their members for their daily living needs. We will be collecting donations until December 15, 2023 so that we have time to be able to deliver these to each organization.

Our goal is to be able to donate $500 to each organization to help support the community of individuals that they assist. Please help us reach our goal to be able to assist these two absolutely amazing organizations.

Thanks to the incredible generosity of our community and the support from First State Bank, we received a wonderful surprise. During First State Bank's recent School Donation campaign, new checking accounts were opened, and five of those who opened them chose Emanuel Lutheran School to receive a $20 donation each. A $100 check came our way! A huge thank you to our amazing community and First State Bank for making this possible.

Downtown is booming and we are incredibly thankful to have our location already filled with a new business and can't wait for their announcement and welcome them into our location.

Last Friday we partnered with the DECA club at New London High School (Wisconsin) to provide the residents at St. Joseph Residence Inc., New London, WI and Washington Center with 160 beautiful arrangements!

We are so happy and blessed to have the opportunity to bring some joy this holiday season, and we could not have done it without the help of the community and our local businesses. Thank you for all of your hard work and support!

Join us for the Sturgeon Shuffle 2024! Presented by First State Bank, the Sturgeon Shuffle is a family-friendly 5K walk/run and a 10K competitive road run open to all levels of athletes. Named after the spring “sturgeon run”(spawning season), both events kick off from New London Middle School and are fully chip-timed (start and finish), taking participants on an out-and-back course on County Highway X along New London’s beautiful Wolf River.

Proceeds raised from the Shuffle will benefit backpack programs in our community and region including: Project Backpack New London, Project Backpack Waupaca (serving Waupaca, Manawa, Weyauwega-Fremont, Iola-Scandinavia, and Amherst school districts), and the Compassionate Connections Center Nutrition Mission in Clintonville. These organizations are working hard to stamp out hunger in our schools.

Mission of Hope Resiliency Center is a 12 bed peer-supported living environment that offers programs and services designed to help our clients break free from poverty, substance abuse disorder, and homelessness.

We are here to give those most in need a hand up to a brighter future. Our programs are structured in a way to directly address access to housing, mental health concerns, and substance use disorder.

We delivered the gifts for the families we adopted.

Wendy from First Congregation Church told us that 187 children were adopted this Christmas season. And those that didn't get adopted or information got in late the parents will be able to go into a gift room and choose a few things for their kids.

They are also getting a Christmas meal with ham from Tyson, potatoes, stuffing and whatnot.

It was a great night!!

64 years ago my grandparents Robert and Dorothy Neilson started Tv-Pliance Center in New London, WI. Through out the years they have sold tvs, records, radios, vacuums, and a variety of kitchen and laundry appliances. They took pride in being able to service what they sold. Many long hours of hard work involving blood, sweat, tears, a few broken bones & a deer through the front window took place in those 64 years. Their son Paul – (which is my dad by the way for those delusional folks out there who have called him my husband over the years – and to the one lady who called him my son – to you I say – “you’re nuts, I do not look that old) took over nearly 25 years ago when we lost my grandpa. I joined the crew about 7 years ago and took over all the office and sales responsibilities.

Grandma Dorothy graced us with her presence at the shop up until the ripe age of 94 and then we forced her to go home and relax!

Many changes have taken place over the years, but one thing that never changed was the store being the central location for our family. It was rare to not have grandkids at the store, playing in boxes, watching cartoons, fixing appliances with grandpa, counting the cash register with grandma, or playing cards.

The love that was put into the store radiated out in the service and community.

It is with a sad yet joyful heart that I write this message. As much as we will miss the store, my family and I have decided its time for my dad Paul to relax, retire and start taking care of himself.

On behalf of my entire family, we’d like to thank the NL community for all its support over the last 64 years!!! We would have never made it as long as we did without each and every one of you!

Our building will not sit empty…… Events Everlasting will be relocating into our building starting January 1st!! Our hope for them is they succeed, shine, and hopefully 64 years from now they are still flourishing!

Please stop down and see us THIS COMING STATURDAY 12/9/23 FROM 8:30AM TO NOON! We do not have much inventory left, only a few pieces. But this will be our LAST SALE and the last time to catch us all there at once. Even the now 97 year old patriarch GMA D will be there for a while.

Recognize that sleigh? My Uncle Mark was gracious enough to lend me their vintage sleigh for my Christmas Minis this year, so it only seemed fair to get some photos of them with the sleigh, in their element. Let me tell you - these guys do Christmas big, and I mean BIG! It's the most beautiful display of Christmas inside and outside of their home. It's amazing!

Couple quick notes as we approach the Christmas season and end of year:

- My last day of Willa Jo "work" for the 2023 year will be on Sunday, December 17th. If you need something from me before year end, be sure to reach out soon! (You can continue to purchase gift certificates from the website, but if you would like the giftable certificate emailed to you, be sure to let me know before the 17th as that's an extra step that I need to complete for you!) I will get back to any emails or messages sent between Dec 18 and January 1 after the new year.

- Class of 2025 Seniors who are on my list will receive booking info emails around February. If you are not yet on my list and would like first dibs at booking a senior session, get on the list ASAP! I will begin booking other seniors in March.

- Families interested in a 2024 family session can reach out to get "on the books" anytime, however, I will be waiting to schedule spring/summer/fall dates until February/March, also.

- If you are interested in a Winter session in January/February/March - YAY! Snow sessions are so fun - reach out! My winter is usually pretty open and we can keep an eye out for good weather, fresh snow, etc. Plan your outfits now and be ready for the perfect winter day!
