Bookkeeping Tips from the BOS: Some people like to Bust-A-Move but today we're gonna Bust-A-Myth... over the next 10 weeks we're gonna talk about 10 different bookkeeping myths that are still very prevalent in the business world.

#1: Our first myth is that bookkeepers are only needed for business, particularly big business.

Bookkeeping is NOT necessarily only for business. There are many that utilize proper bookkeeping practices within their own personal spaces to be able to track their expenses so that they can manage their budgets correctly and effectively so they can live the lifestyle they desire to. Or realize why they are not living the lifestyle they desire to.

The second half of this myth and what I find very intriguing is the fact that many believe that quality bookkeeping is only necessary for big business and not something that a small business professional should be utilizing. The reality is that small businesses need proper bookkeeping services so that they can make sure they can take their business to the level that they want to. Without accurate bookkeeping and the ability to know their numbers, business owners cannot properly make the necessary decisions they need to. More on that in another post.

Reminder that while construction keeps on keepin' on, you can utilize the following parking lots to access the downtown and support our local businesses!

- Public parking available on the NORTH side stalls only

(south side stalls are saved for Theatre patrons)

- Living Waters Assembly of God Church

- 401 W North Water St

- Open to public parking EXCEPT for during church activities at the following times:

- Wednesdays from 5:30pm-8:00pm

- Sundays 9:00am – Noon

- No overnight parking at either location, violators will be ticketed and towed.

In addition to these options, there are city public parking lots open as well including Lincoln Court!
