Women's Wellness Walk
Women’s Wellness Walk is dedicated to educating and empowering women to make good choices with their health and nutrition and creating a healthy balance for their life. We encourage attendees to relax and share the day with family and friends.

The event begins and ends at Familiar Grounds where health-based exhibitors lined the entire coffee shop to interact with guests.  Attendees choose two activities to participate in and they walk between area businesses and organizations to both classes.

Activities to choose from:

1. Learn to “BEFAST” for National Stroke Awareness Month – location: 215 N. Shawano St. Municipal Building
May is National Stroke Awareness Month, a month in which to raise awareness about stroke risk factors and lessen the occurrence of stroke. It’s quite likely that you know someone who has suffered from a stroke in their life or know someone who may, so you could benefit from learning about the signs and symptoms to protect those you love and yourself. Learn more from Kristin Randall, Stroke Program Coordinator from ThedaCare about BEFAST, an acronym the Stroke System of Care Task Force recommends using to identify signs and symptoms
of a stroke.

Ablaze Technologies

If you have a deteriorated chimney venting a water heater or heating appliance a great option is to remove the chimney to below the roof line and install a B Vent. This will allow the appliance to run more efficiently and reduce the risk of carbon monoxide into the home.

Mosquito Hill Nature Center

We're thrilled to introduce to you a new art work piece on the nature center grounds. The wolf sculpture was made of “recycled” Christmas trees and donated by artist Casey Early-Krueger. It was recently featured on the Wolf River Art League float with Casey at the St. Patrick’s Day parade in New London, which won an award. Currently you can see the sculpture located in the walkway between the nature center parking lot and our driveway. A huge thank you to Casey Early-Krueger for the donation. We're looking forward to more upcoming projects with the Wolf River Art League in the future!
