Barb Nelson Agency - American Family Insurance

This week, American Family's IT team detected unusual activity in a portion of our network. It was quickly discovered, and the systems were shut down before anything was compromised.
We understand that the system outages are impacting you, and we appreciate your patience and understanding.
We do not have access to the information needed to assist you at this time, but we can contact you when our system issues are resolved.
For policies with payments that are due during this time, the policies will not cancel for non payment of premium, and will not have late fees added to the amount due once the system is back up and running.
For any changes that need to be made to your policy, contact us like normal, and once the system is back up we will be able to process the change.
Our phone system has been working on and off, so please leave a voicemail and we will return your call. You can also email us at barbnelsonagency@amfam.com.
Again, we apologize for the inconvenience and appreciate your patience while we work through this. We do not have a timeframe for when the systems will be back up and running, but we will keep everyone updated as we get them.
Thank you,
Barb, Gloria, and Missy

City of New London

Well, if you've been in downtown New London this past week you probably noticed we finally saw the last phase of asphalt being installed for the year on State Street, Lincoln Court, St. John's Place AND the new downtown parking lot! We're excite to see this new parking lot near Lincoln Court open, but want to let people know that the lot will be CLOSED on Monday, November 13th so the contractor can paint the parking stall lines in this new lot.

Copper Leaf Salon

The "refresh" at the Copper Leaf Salon is ready for YOU! Our passion is simple – we live to help every guest look and feel beautiful! We have several chairs available for rent, full or part-time. We are willing to help you get started and have clients available for you from the start. We are completely ADA compliant and have easy off street parking.
We are the only salon on the east side of New London located in a quiet neighborhood very near to the hospital but close to the Highway 45/15 intersection.
We also have a private room with ventilation and a large window for natural light which would be great for a makeup or nail technician.
A third option is our 2 room, private entrance suite. One room has dimmable lights to create a relaxing atmosphere and the outer room is great for a waiting/reception area. This would be great for a massage, holistic, or physical therapist, Reiki, Somatic, or even a Yoga studio! We would also be open to another type of business if you just need a quiet place to work.
Very reasonable rent, you set your own hours, and we are members of the New London Chamber of Commerce, so you are eligible for all the benefits the Chamber has to offer.
Contact me today to schedule a tour! Gina Staskal 920-960-1821 or email copperleafsalon@gmail.com

Crystal Falls Restaurant, Banquets & Catering

Hi Friends! There have been some rumors and hypotheses and speculations about the future of Crystal Falls recently. While changes will be happening, we are not going anywhere for the foreseeable future. Way back in 2019 we (the current owners) purchased the business and equipment and leased our space. We will continue to lease space at our current location. What is, most likely, happening is that the church will be taking over the west bar and small rooms that we currently use for dining in at our restaurant. We will still have the east bar, kitchen, and all of the Niagara banquet hall. We will move our restaurant dine in area to the east bar area and simply operate our restaurant in a different space. So please continue to support us so that we can stay in this beautiful community. We hope to see all of your smiling faces soon! Lots of Love ~Bailey, Sydni & Shawn

Events Everlasting

We have updated hours! During the busy holiday season we have extended our hours to accommodate our customers in store shopping experience! We will be open later on Wednesday and Thursday until 6pm and Saturday until 3pm.
Be sure to stop in soon to for all your holiday shopping and decor needs this season!
We were going to wait to share these until later in November but today seemed like a good day. Starting to get our winter accessories in stock! These fingerless gloves are so soft and warm! The scarves will be put out today and we have more winter inventory on its way!
We had a dream to create and donate arrangements to all the residents of St. Joesph Residence in New London during the holiday season. As we were brainstorming we realized this would be a great project to work with the community but even more with the local students at the high school.
Kim, the owner of Events Everlastings started her entrepreneurial journey at New London High School with the SEM program and knows the power in providing the opportunity to students to be part of a real life project. Instead of Events Everlasting just providing the arrangements, we knew we could do more with our whole community!
We have teamed up with Eve Hedtke & Allyson Recla, current students in the SEM program at New London High School who are joining us on this journey. Eve & Allyson are able to learn how to market, network with local businesses and the community, create arrangements, and then oversee distribution and volunteers. These are skills that will follow the students the rest of their careers.
This project is to really bring some seasonal cheer to our nursing home population during the holiday season. This group is sadly the most overlooked during the holidays and by providing some fresh floral we hope to brighten their day as the students deliver and visit with the residents.
There are roughly 100 residents within the facility of St. Joseph Residence and our goal is to be able to donate arrangements to all of them. Hopefully we will raise more to expand to the staff at the facility to show our appreciation of their hard work. To make a donation please click the link below.

Hi Everyone!!!
Today we are introducing one of our amazing coaches Jesse! He has been a great asset to our team and we are so excited for what's to come! We will be going LIVE tomorrow night for an interview with Jesse who will be talking about his background along with what we have going on with wrestling and boxing! Stay tuned!!!
"My name is Jesse Hedtke. I grew up in New London, WI. where I played many sports growing up, to include boxing and wrestling. After graduating from High School, in 1996, I joined the Army. While in the Army, I boxed for my Brigade Boxing Team and later became the Brigade Boxing Head Coach. I also competed on my battalion's wrestling team from 1997-2000.
In 2000, I came back to Wisconsin and joined the WI Army National Guard. I continued boxing for the Oshkosh Boxing team. Due to deployments after 9/11, I was unable to continue competing and ended my amateur career with a 35-5 record, fighting in multiple Golden Gloves tournaments. During that time, I also dabbled in (MMA) Mixed Martial Arts and comprised a 3-1 record. After 26 years of military service, leading, training, and mentoring thousands of Soldiers in and out of combat, I retired as a (CSM) Command Sergeant Major.
In 2015, I came back to New London, and I started coaching the New London youth wrestling program with my brother. The following year I coached at N.L. High School for a year, and I am currently the head wrestling coach for N.L. Middle School wrestling team.
In April 2023, we opened up WIKID wrestling for kids to be able to wrestle year around. I also started coaching boxing here at Total Fitness. I have a passion for coaching and watching kids and adults achieve their goals. I am a firm believer in the “total fitness” aspect of health, not just the physical part. Fitness is physical, mental, spiritual, and social. They all go hand in hand.
When I am not coaching, I enjoy spending time in the woods hunting, UTVing, snowmobiling, and spending time with my wife and daughter."

New London Wrestling

We are super excited to introduce to you the newest addition to our coaching staff. Please help us welcome Addison Young as our Girls Wrestling Coach.
Addison is a graduate of UW Steven's Point where she wrestled for 4 years. She is also a graduate of New London where she has a hometown connection. Addison is going to take our girls program to the next level and we are excited for the impact she is going to have on the girls in our community.
The High School season begins next week and we are still looking for girls to help fill out our girls team. If you have a daughter interested in joining the girls wrestling team, have them reach out to Coach Krueger or Coach Young.

October was Manufacturing Month in Wisconsin. Manufacturing is the biggest contributor to our state's economy, accounting for nearly 19% of Wisconsin's total economic output. The industry is also instrumental in employing about 1 in 6 Wisconsin workers. NLHS students currently in Welding and other Tech Ed classes had the opportunity to tour three manufacturing companies that are located in New London. The students first toured EJ Metals and learned about the unique apparatuses used to battle wildland fires and rescue. Next on the tour was a stop at Titan Conveyor where students learned about the design and building of custom conveyors that are used worldwide in the manufacturing industry. The final stop was at Steel King. The students learned how automation and the use of robotic welders has changed the manufacturing industry and has helped companies stay competitive in the manufacturing market. The New London High School students would like to thank the businesses for the opportunity to visit and learn about the manufacturing sector of our community.
