What an incredible evening in New London!
Despite a little Wisconsin weather trying to steal the spotlight, Summer Kickoff 2026 proved once again that New London knows how to come together, celebrate, and create something truly special.
On Friday, June 5, more than 4,100 community members and visitors filled Downtown New London for the second annual Summer Kickoff – Night Market. From families enjoying the Kids FUN Zone to shoppers exploring vendor booths, food lovers sampling local favorites, and music fans dancing along to Nashville Pipeline, the evening was packed with energy, laughter, and community spirit.
This year’s theme, “Stars, Stripes & Summer Nights,” brought a festive atmosphere to North Water Street as downtown transformed into a vibrant gathering place featuring:
- Live music from Nashville Pipeline
- A bustling Night Market filled with local vendors and artisans
- Delicious food trucks and downtown restaurants
- Fire breathers and stilt walkers entertaining the crowd
- A packed Kids FUN Zone and foam pit
- A community beer garden
- Live artists creating throughout the evening
- The crowd-favorite tethered hot air balloon glow, sponsored by Fox Communities Credit Union, which was unable to launch due to weather conditions but is expected to return next year
What makes Summer Kickoff special isn’t just the attractions—it’s the incredible collaboration behind the scenes. Businesses, nonprofits, sponsors, volunteers, entertainers, city staff, emergency services, and community members all worked together to create an unforgettable experience for our region.
When rain arrived later in the evening, something remarkable happened. Instead of dampening spirits, it showcased what makes New London unique. Vendors stayed positive, attendees enjoyed the event until the weather moved in, and volunteers and community members came out in force to help with cleanup. What takes days to set up was taken down in just a matter of hours thanks to the many helping hands that stepped forward.
The New London Area Chamber of Commerce extends heartfelt thanks to every sponsor, vendor, volunteer, performer, staff member, and attendee who helped make this event a success. Events like Summer Kickoff are only possible because of the people who believe in building community and creating experiences that bring us together.
Most importantly, Summer Kickoff is more than a celebration. Proceeds from the event help support community initiatives and programs that strengthen New London throughout the year, including efforts that enhance economic development, tourism, and quality of life.
As we reflect on another successful year, we’re already looking ahead to Summer Kickoff 2027. The enthusiasm, support, and community pride shown this year remind us why we continue to invest in events that make New London such a special place to live, work, and visit.
