New London Area Chamber of Commerce

THANK YOU, NEW LONDON!
Our first-ever Pumpkin Palooza proudly hosted by ThedaCare was an unbelievable success! The streets flooded with families, kids in costumes, and even pets dressed to impress. The energy was electric, the smiles were endless, and the community spirit was stronger than ever!
In less than *two hours*, the Chamber gave away…
270 apple sundaes
375 s’mores
5 gallons of hot cocoa
4 gallons of apple cider
8 giant bags of candy
Your excitement and support absolutely blew us away! Thank you to our incredible sponsors, volunteers, businesses, and families who showed up to make history with us in downtown New London.
This event was created to bring our community together—and you helped us do exactly that. We’re already looking forward to next year!
Thank you, Mark Herter Mayor of New London for helping with the costume contest. Commercial pumpkin display contest winners will be announced soon.

Feonix-Mobility Rising

Dear Mobility Leadership Circle Members,

I’m thrilled to share some exciting news with you — our trusted partners and collaborators in advancing transportation access nationwide. As valued community champions, we wanted you to be the first to hear this important update.

Beginning October 20, Feonix – Mobility Rising will officially launch the Catch a Ride Network — our new public-facing program name and brand identity across the United States.

While our name is changing publicly, our legal name will remain Feonix – Mobility Rising, and our mission, values, and programs remain exactly the same. You’ll still see the same dedication to building mobility solutions that strengthen health, opportunity, and community well-being. What’s changing is how we share that story — with a name that’s easier to recognize, remember, and grow nationwide.

In many of the communities we serve, we’ve operated under different local program names. The Catch a Ride Network brings all those efforts under one clear, unified banner — helping us connect partners, expand services, and scale impact more effectively.

What Makes This Possible
This exciting evolution has been made possible through the generous support of Ford Philanthropy and the incredible skills-based volunteer expertise of Ford Motor Company’s Global Brand Team.

Looking Ahead
This new identity also opens the door to a new suite of programs and initiatives designed to strengthen mobility access and innovation in the months ahead. We can’t wait to share more details with you soon as these efforts unfold.

Your Role in This Movement
Your leadership and insight have been instrumental in shaping our collective understanding of community mobility challenges and solutions. As we step into this next chapter, we’re eager to continue growing alongside you.

Thank you for your continued partnership in advancing mobility for the health and well-being of every person in every community.

Hucklberry Acres Campground

Fall is a beautiful time here at Camp Huck. The leaves are painting the woods in reds and golds, the crisp air makes the coffee taste just a little better, and the sunsets over Huck’s Lake are pure magic.
Whether you’re hiking the trails, tossing a line in the Wolf River, or just sitting by the fire in a hoodie, fall at Hucklberry is the definition of cozy.
Fall may have closed the gates at Hucklberry… but she sure left the lights on!
The campground might be tucked in for the season, but Mother Nature is still putting on one heck of a final show. The trees around Huck’s Lake are glowing like they just won “Best Dressed” at the Fall Fashion Awards. Reds, yellows, and oranges everywhere — it’s like a Bob Ross painting came to life (happy little trees included).
We might not be flipping burgers or pouring drinks at Huck’s Grill right now, but that golden glow over the lake is still worth the drive. Snap a pic, breathe in that crisp air, and remember… every leaf that falls is just one step closer to campfire season 2026

Keen's Sweet Treats LLC

Ledger Lady, LLC

If your “filing system” looks like a shoebox of receipts and half a spreadsheet… you’re not alone.
It's October and the end of the year will be here before you know it! So, now is the time to get your books in order. End of year reporting doesn’t have to be a mess and we’ve got a checklist to prove it.
From reconciling accounts to checking payroll records, we’ve outlined everything you need to to clean up those receipts and get ready for tax season!
Check out the full checklist here.
Is the government shutdown affecting small business bookkeeping?
Short answer: Not really.
Even with Washington hitting pause, your federal and state tax obligations don’t stop. Sales tax (handled by your state), quarterly estimated taxes, and payroll filings remain due, shutdown or not. The IRS and state tax agencies expect filings and payments on time.
The only thing you might notice is slower processing for refunds or new SBA loans. If you’re applying for funding, visit www.sba.gov, for the latest updates.
In short, keep doing the same things you've been doing and keep those payments on time. Your future self (and your accountant) will thank you later.

Macaport, LLC

It has come to our attention that some customers did not receive the email notification letting them know their team store items were ready for pickup. An email was sent out once all orders were completed, so we can only assume there was a technological issue that prevented some messages from being delivered.
We sincerely apologize for this inconvenience and will be looking into the issue to ensure it doesn’t happen again moving forward.
Along with that, we want to take a moment to address how situations like this should be handled. First and foremost, we take great pride in being a part of this community and would never intentionally do anything to harm our relationships with the organizations or individuals we serve. If there’s ever a problem or concern, we encourage anyone to come to us directly in a calm and respectful manner — we are always happy to work through it and make things right.
What will not be tolerated, however, is disrespect toward our staff. Coming into the store upset, refusing to listen, and yelling at our employees does not help resolve the issue. Our employees work hard and do not deserve this kind of treatment. For those that know us, know that being rude, mean and the mistreatment of others is not a part of our personalities and never will be.
Mistakes can happen — it’s a natural part of life — and we truly want the opportunity to correct them.
We hold ourselves to a high standard and deeply value the trust our customers place in us. All we ask is for mutual respect and understanding as we work to continue serving this amazing community.
Thank you for your continued support,
Ally Byrum – MacaPort, Manager.

Mid State Asphalt LLC

Just paved? Don’t rush it!
If you’ve got a brand-new asphalt driveway (about 2.5" thick), give it time to set up right.
- Wait 24–48 hours before driving on it with cars or trucks.
- Keep heavy vehicles off for at least 3–5 days.
-- And for the first couple weeks, try not to park in the same spot or turn your wheels while standing still — it helps prevent marks while the asphalt hardens.
Good things take time — and a smooth driveway is one of them!
