New London, WI residents - after the notice posted by NLPD today, I'd like to offer you a discount on any tag or personalized collar. City of New London

The City of New London is looking for stakeholders to team up to promote and advertise on the Highway 15 Digital Billboard in Greenville near Sport-O-Motive (5501 W. Neubert Rd, Appleton, WI 54913). The purpose is to promote various events and businesses in the City of New London. Each paid ad would be shown on the billboard every minute for about 7.5 seconds (8 ads are shown each minute). The cost will be dependent on how many stakeholders team up for group discounts. We are currently targeting to purchase advertising space between March 3rd and April 20th, 2025. Organizations can choose to purchase one week's worth of ad space or multiple weeks.  Since this is a City effort, we are focusing on organizations and businesses within the city limits of New London.  If you have questions or you're interested in being part of this group advertisement purchase, please contact City Administrator Chad Hoerth at choerth@newlondonwi.org or (920) 982-8500 ext. 116.

JG Restoration

With the freezing temperatures upon us until tomorrow make sure you have any of your exterior pipes and interior pipes close to walls protected.
Below are some suggestions for protecting your home and business.
If you happen to have a broken pipeline that is causing water damage, please be sure to call us. We are available 24/7 to help.
1. Insulate Pipes
Use foam pipe insulation: Wrap exposed pipes, especially those in attics, basements, and crawl spaces.
Heat tape: This electric tape can be wrapped around pipes and plugged in to keep the pipes warm during cold temperatures.
2. Seal Gaps and Cracks
Seal any gaps around windows, doors, and in the walls where cold air can enter and affect the pipes.
Use caulk, spray foam, or weather stripping to block drafts.
3. Let Faucets Drip
Allowing a small stream of water to flow through faucets can reduce the risk of freezing by keeping water moving. This is particularly useful for pipes in unheated areas.
4. Open Cabinet Doors
If pipes are located under sinks (especially on exterior walls), leave cabinet doors open to allow warmer air from the home to circulate around the pipes.
5. Maintain a Consistent Temperature
Keep your home temperature above 55°F (13°C), even when you're away, to avoid the risk of freezing pipes.
6. Shut Off Outside Water Supply
Disconnect hoses, drain outdoor faucets, and shut off the water supply to exterior pipes. You can install frost-proof outdoor faucets to help prevent freezing.
7. Use a Space Heater
In critical areas like basements or attics, use a space heater to maintain warmth around vulnerable pipes.
8. Install Pipe Heating Cables
For extremely cold regions, consider installing self-regulating pipe heating cables, which automatically adjust their heat output to prevent freezing.
By implementing a combination of these methods, you can reduce the risk of frozen pipes during cold weather.
