Mosquito Hill Nature Center – Pine Needle / Sweetgrass Basket Workshop

Join Debra Morningstar, Oneida Artist and Storyteller, and learn the basics of pine needle coiling.

Native people have been coiling baskets since the beginning of time. While creating their own pine needle basket, participants will learn about the various types of pine trees, their geographical regions, and the Indigenous people who harvested their pine needles. Participants are welcome to bring a lunch or snack.
