2026 Wisconsin Statewide Tornado Drill
It’s Severe Weather Awareness Week in Wisconsin, and this week’s forecast is a good reminder to make sure you’re prepared.
Make sure you and your family know where to go during severe weather, and set up multiple ways to receive weather alerts.
The statewide tornado drill is currently scheduled for Thursday, April 16, at 1:45 PM and 6:45 PM. Take a few minutes to participate and practice your plan.
Being prepared now can make a big difference later. The statewide tornado drill is an important opportunity for employers, staff, and visitors to practice how they would respond during severe weather. Participating helps businesses review shelter procedures, identify any gaps in their plans, and reinforce the importance of being prepared before an actual warning occurs.
We encourage local businesses to participate by:
- Reviewing their tornado and severe weather procedures
- Identifying and communicating designated shelter areas
- Practicing how employees and visitors would move to shelter
- Confirming they have a reliable way to receive weather alerts and warnings
